Love is in the air! In honor of Valentine's Day, mix romance with practicality by sitting down with your partner to chat about your finances. While money is certainly not the most romantic topic, open conversation, shared goals, and teamwork can bring you that much closer together. Read along for tips on managing money as a couple.
Advanced Financial FCU recently teamed up with our friends at Affinity Federal Credit Union to host a Financial Reality Fair event at Trenton High School. Financial Reality Fairs are hands-on simulations that are designed to teach students how to manage money and develop healthy financial habits that will last a lifetime.
Over 150 high school students were in attendance, and during the event, they were all assigned careers, income, and family situations. The reality fair encourages them to make informed decisions on budgeting, saving, spending, and borrowing, and it's up to them to decide how they will cover various expenses like housing, transportation, food, entertainment, and more. The fair focuses on educating students on critical topics like financial planning and navigating real world challenges. All the students were highly engaged throughout the event and actively participated in financial discussions and activities.
We are proud to have played a role in empowering the next generation with valuable financial knowledge and helping them build their confidence to make smart decisions now and in the future.
