Bringing Financial Education to Life at Abundant Life Academy

At Advanced Financial FCU, we believe that financial literacy starts early, and recently, we have had the opportunity to bring that belief to life. 

Each April marks Financial Literacy Month, and this year, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting our very first Financial Reality Fair at Abundant Life Academy in Nutley. The event was nothing short of amazing! 

Financial Reality Fairs are hands-on simulations that allow students to step into the shoes of real-world adults. With a career, income, family, budget, and everyday expenses to manage, students experienced firsthand how their decisions can impact their overall financial picture. The event sparked meaningful conversations and left students feeling empowered, informed, and more confident about handling money and making important life decisions.

What made this experience even more special was the strong sense of community behind it. While we were honored to lead this initiative for the students of Abundant Life Academy, we didn't do it alone. With the full support and teamwork from our friends at Affinity Federal Credit Union, Atlantic Federal Credit Union, North Jersey Federal Credit Union, and Visions Federal Credit Union, we came together with a shared goal: to educate and empower the next generation. 

We are already looking forward to hosting and attending more financial reality fairs in the future as we continue helping students build strong foundations for financial success.
